Revised Minutes of Meeting between RACO and EOBDF - 29 January 2026

RACO met with the External Oversight Body for the Defence Forces (EOBDF) on 29 January 2026.
On 9 March 2026, RACO received draft minutes of the meeting, inviting observations on factual errors. On the same date, RACO advised the EOBDF that it did not agree that the draft minutes accurately reflected the content or conduct of the meeting. RACO submitted proposed amendments to address significant factual errors and omissions, and requested sight of an amended version before publication.
On 7 April 2026, the EOBDF confirmed that it intended to publish the draft minutes withiut incorporating any of the requested amendments. RACO responded on 27 April 2026, reiterating its concerns regarding the accuracy of the minutes and restating that, should they be published without amendment, RACO would publish its own record of the meeting. That letter is attached for information.
In June 2026, the EOBDF eventually published the minutes on its website without the amendments requested by RACO. In accordance with its earlier correspondence, RACO is therefore publishing its own minutes of the meeting of 29 January 2026. These minutes set out RACO’s record of the matters discussed and the positions expressed during the meeting.

For the EOBDF to simply disregard the observations made by RACO regarding the conduct of the meeting between the parties reflects poorly on the governance and procedures of the Body. 
It is disappointing that RACO has now been forced to publish accurate minutes from its meeting with the EOBDF on 29 January, almost 5 months after that meeting.
